Affordable & Inclusive Housing
In a city where market rate housing no longer meets the affordability of the middle class and homelessness is on the rise, we see a growing number of individuals and families moving outwards of the city core to marginal neighborhoods and sometimes on the streets. Homelessness while not new is a problem Vancouver B.C. has faced for years now, with no end in sight. This research project focuses on Affordable and Inclusive housing for the Metro Vancouver area and how to solve what is becoming an epidemic. Through studying a variety of housing models both local and non-local the hope is new typologies will become apparent and a set of guidelines can be determined to help guide future non-market housing developments.
